The Feilding Flying  Club was origionaly established as the Middle Districts Sports Flying Club in 2000 by group of enthusiastic veteran aviators. Being well aware that the high cost of learning to fly was proving prohibitive for many who wished to take to the skies they decided to do something about it. Gaining funding from a number of sources they purchased an aircraft, built a hangar and clubroom then set about training instructors.

As the club flourished and members flew to aerodromes and events around the country it became evident that few knew where we came from so in 2014 members decided to change our name to the Feilding Flying Club.
